Aquaculture: is the farming of freshwater and saltwater organisms such as fish and aquatic plants.

Aquaponics: is the symbiotic cultivation of plants and aquatic animals in a recirculating environment.

Cycle: Develop the beneficial colony of ‘good’ bacteria that convert fish waste into nitrites then nitrates – plant fertilizer. This takes several weeks.

Hydroponics: is a method of growing plants using mineral nutrient solutions, in water, without soil.

Grow Bed: the container where plants are grown in hydroponics

Bell Siphon: a device used in Ebb and Flow growbeds that controls the water level in the growbed.
