Who says you can't teach old cars new tricks!

Just today my car learned a new trick. It's pretty cool!

I am not talking about that top light, that means that the car is turned on. I am talking about that lower orange light, the one that says your about to eat the steering wheel.

I am waiting for the car to say in a sexy voice, "Deployment Eminent", but it never happened.
I scared the guy in front of me at a light. Like most geeks, I know that things come with sensors. Sometimes sensors get stuck. Such stuck sensors can become unstuck with a sharp, percussive force. Knowing this, I hit the airbag. Did you know that hitting airbags makes a loud noise? Sounds an awful lot like these impatient drivers down here in South Florida.

How rude!

Upgrading to Beta Blogger

Well, lets try the new beta blogger.
I have been holding out because I do 99% of my posts with Picassa, and I had been reading mixed reports about the succes of posting to the Beta.

I went in and tried to tag most of the posts to date. If I miss-tagged or am missing a good tag, let me know.

Crossing toes (its too hard to type with crossed fingers).

Old Cadalac

Check out this old Cadalac. Tall male-pattern balding dude in a suit got out of it at Pollo Tropical and had a $5 lunch to go.

I hope he doesn't spill his soda. Posted by Picasa

Solution for Bad Drivers from Technical Alchemy

My buddy over at Technical Alchemy devised an interesting way to slow down those idiots flying down the road. Probably illegal as a "distractive nuisance", but still fun anyhow.

The basic idea is to bolt what looks and (to the casual observer function) like a military missile pod to the roof of your vehicle.

What I would put in it is the 4 high-def video cameras (to get better photos of the cars around me for this blog) on a 24 -48 hour TIVO loop. These would be able to offload "interesting" footage automatically by WiFi to the main video server in the house.

I would build an actual radar and have the whole turret track the fastest object on the road. The speed-demon probably wouldn't notice, but as this thing tracked that car zooming past, it would really get the attention of the vehicle(s) behind you.

Now... I wonder.... could you feed the police's radar guns with a "desired" speed? I would want to be driving at 1337 mph. I wonder what the judge will say to that... (as I ask for the calibration records for said speed gun)

Good thoughts!

A plane went through and created a reverse contrail. Posted by Picasa

Guest Appearance!

I have my first guest appearance! My old supervisor (heh, I just called you old!) from RAGFL sent me this photo yesterday.

She identifies the yellow car as a Lamborghini. Who am I to argue?

Thanks to to FontNerd for this wonderful catch!

LOL, I think it has been a long day... Posted by Picasa
