Semi Truck parks in a living room.

I was driving up to Katie's place this weekend, and in Lake Wales, about 30 miles away, traffic comes to a standstill.
I knew something was up, as their was a helicopter buzzing around up ahead of me. All of a sudden, I hear a gosh awefull racket, and a truck is dragging something down the street. I didn't get a very good shot of it, but it looked like part of a tractor trailor.
Here is a different view of the stuff being dragged down the road. It is in front of the Semi truck. About this time, I am looking things up on my Nokia while I am stuck in traffic, trying to figure out what is ahead of me. I didn't find out until after I had gotten clear of the traffic, that a semi truck had crashed into a house.
Here is as close as I got to "the incident". Behind the squad car, where those light posts are, a pile of people had gathered up watching. They had a crane out, but the car is blocking the view of it here. You can see a little bit of steam or smoke or something coming up from the accident over the hood of the car.

If your interested I looked up more information from a local newspaper, http://www.theledger.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20070407/NEWS/704070403/0/FRONTPAGE

Interesting WTF? on the roof...

I was driving up to lakeland, and I see this car. I was really wondering what it was. The camera looking things are pointed forward left, forward right, and then almost straight to the right side. The driver was talking on the cellphone, with a laptop in the passenger seat, police car style. You can't really see it, but there are 3 little glass-mount antenas on the back glass. This car was being followed by a unmarked squadcar with the police plates (that is how I knew for sure it was a police car, it was the match to this one without the roof-rack) right on his tail - so close it was almost funny.

Here is a better view of the "gadgets". I was really thinking they look a lot like cameras to me.

Well, was talking to a friend about a "wouldn't it be cool" idea, cameras in a cop car that automatically read license plates and ran the plates for you. He said they have them already.

Gosh, I wonder what this car is? It makes sense, the car can drive down a street and read the plates of parked cars. If they are parallel parked, he can read on both sides, and if they are perpendicular parked, he can read them with that side camera.

I am glad that the police are getting more and more tools to make their job easier. But with Florida only having a back license plate, this is 1 more reason to back my car into my parking spot (not that I do anything wrong, but while I am insanely curious about where I am, when, I don't know that I really want anybody else knowing that unless I control the information).

If you can't park it, You can't drive it.

I think we should implement a new rule, with the proliforation of all these big trucks (which I want one of). If you can't park it, you can't drive it. This was at Pollo Tropical, a VERY BUSY resturaunt. It can be very hard to get parking there some days. This !@#$%^&* took up 2 spaces. The worst part is, that he is parked straight on from the parking lot, so he could have parked it in square without any problems at all.

This one gets my http://www.youparklikeanasshole.com/ award for the month. I really gotta start carring around some slips.
