I am a big user of the plastic spoon, but I have washed the same one for a year and a half.

I like Wendy's spoons. They have nice plastic spoons. Well worth washing!

  1. Really? In my experience, Wendy's spoons tend to snap after about three washings, and always in the exact same place. There's some issue with their design that there's a fatigue point just before the spoon head curves into the handle.

  2. That is where mine have failed to.  I tend to use chopsticks a lot,  so I probably am more gentle than many on my sole spoon.  I may date the one i have now.  See how long it survives

  3. I don't have one in front of me at the moment, but I'd imagine adding something relatively structural (and ideally nontoxic) that forms a triangle from below that point to further back on the handle might do it.

My first thought was two part epoxy putty… But you may not want to put that close to your mouth, even when fully cured.
