Last winter I bought a pair of mechanics gloves on clearance for Katie to use as driving gloves. Silly girl put them down somewhere, so I claimed them. I love these gloves.
Well, this year, they are starting to look a bit tired. So I fixed them.
I went to Tandy Leather (it's pretty close to my office, who knew?) and got a very small scrap of leather – I walked up to the cashier and apologized. "I am afraid I am going to be one of those really obnoxious people. This is all I need." He told me to just take it – probably wouldn't even register on his scale anyhow.
My dad had been given an old Sears speedy stitcher which he gave me. I ripped out the old stitching with my Leatherman, and sewed in the new finger tip.
I still have 2 other spots that need fixing, but those spots may need to be embroidered to reinforce the week areas.
